Who is it for?
One of the main aspects of ad design focuses on determining your target audience early in the process. If you know who your audience is and what they like, it becomes easier to create an ad which focuses solely on them. You should not create an advert that has no targeted or specific audience. You should aim your ads specifically at demographics –i.e. for teens, children, adults, ladies or men. Once this has been done, it becomes slightly easier to go to the next step of creating the ad.
How to create it?
Use software which has been developed for the purpose of creating great images. If you target youths, kids or teens, then the ad can incorporate flashy images. On the other hand, if your target audience are older people, it is better to create calmer ads which they find appealing. This shows that there is need for you to know what types of ads appeal to the particular group you have chosen to target with the ad. You do not have to use the services of professionals to create these ads – it can be quite easy to design and you can do it on your own without outside assistance.
Tell them to take action!
The most important tip for creating ads is to include what’s called a ‘ call-to-action’. This is done by letting the user know exactly what it is that they’ll find on your site, and by providing them an instruction about what to do next – “Click Here”, “Learn More”, “Call Now” are all very effective calls to action.
Create curiosity
At times it is best to avoid listing any of the benefits or features on the ad. Make them curious enough so that they feel the urge to go to the website and read more about the features and benefits they will derive from your products.
Sometimes irritating ads can work on other mediums, like TV. You should definitely avoid this online as it will generally demotivate your audience from clicking. It is good to remember that people need to be given a reason to click on an ad, or read, watch or listen to what you are communicating to them. Give them that reason.
