--For the past month or so I have seen a variety of new tactics and even tried to develop a few of my own, the only one that I have made that seems to work is the “Ricky Bobby Strat.” You know in Taledega Knights where Ricky Bobby is like “WHOO I’m going fast!”? Well that is the idea. With enough speed, you can dodge enemy spells, chase running heroes, and just even do some crazy stuff that people will never even expect.
--There are only afew items that affect your movement speed in the game so you have to know what you are getting and how fast you want to go.
Boots of Speed
--This item is REQUIRED on every hero. These boots give you +50 MS and they are required even if you don’t plan to go Ricky Bobby.
Power Treads
--Power Treads are the normaly upgrade for your Boots. They give you +65 MS, 30% Attack Speed, and 10 of any attribute that you need. Most heroes will upgrade to the Power Treads just because there really isn’t a reason not to unless you are getting Boots of Travel.
Boots of Travel
--Boots of Travel are truly an amazing item. They give you +85 MS and the ability to teleport around the map to friendly units and buildings. This item is probably the best farming item in the game as well as it allows you to go to one lane, farm it, and then port to another lane and farm it, and so on and so on.
Yasha
--The Yasha gives you 10% movement speed for the fairly inexpensive price of 2250 gold. The Yasha stacks with the Sange and Yasha and if you want to go really fast, you will need to get both of them on some heroes.
Sange and Yasha
--The Sange and Yasha gives you 15% Movement speed and will make you go pretty fast, but this speed comes at a price. The Sange and Yasha costs 5300 gold! It also gives you a lot more than just movement speed though.
The Eul’s Scepter of Divinity
--The Eul’s is normally only a caster item because of the item’s stats. BUT if you plan to go straight Ricky Bobby style and max out your MS then you may need the +40 MS from this item to get you up to the max, haste speed, of 522 MS.
Picking the right hero
--Picking the right hero is important for the Ricky Bobby Plan. There are a few heroes, Razor, Invoker, Priestess of the Moon, Nerubian Assasian, and the Bone Fletcher to name a few. Basically any hero with a passive or active movement speed increaser is a good choice. Obviously the passive ones are a little better because they are always on, but you can make it work with an active cast increaser as well.
Playstyle
--You have to be agressive when you play this strategy. You won’t be a crazy damage dealer, but you will do some decent damage. You have to play on your mobility. Make the enemy miss and dictate the tempo of the battle. Never go head on with the enemy, instead play with them in the woods and use the fog to your advantage.
